Bhittai Rangers

Introduction

Bhittai Rangers was raised at Lahore on 15 July 1989 and is named after the famous Sufi Saint “Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai”. Bhittai Rangers became part of Mehran Force at Karachi on 24 July 1989 and since then it has remained deployed at Karachi. Prominent areas of responsibility are Gaddap, Landhi, Bin Qasim, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Korangi and Shah Faisal Town. 36 Wing of this Sector was specifically raised in 2015 for security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and is performing operational duties under Army.

Role / Tasks

  • Assist Police / civil administration in maintenance of law and order in Districts East, Korangi and Malir of Karachi Division.
  • Conduct independent operations in Karachi as mandated in revised ATA-1997.
